At Nwando Care, we provide Ofsted-registered residential care for children with emotional, behavioural, neurodevelopmental and complex needs. Our homes offer structured, nurturing environments that support placement stability, emotional wellbeing, and measurable progress. Commissioners across North London trust us to deliver high-quality placements aligned with EHCP goals, SEND outcomes and safeguarding frameworks.
Whether you need a same-day emergency placement or a long-term wraparound care plan, our team is ready to work with you to create the right solution.
We understand that commissioners are seeking safe, consistent, and therapeutically informed environments for children with increasingly complex needs. That’s why our homes are small-scale, high-staffed, and relationship-driven — designed to promote trust, development and stability.
Trauma-Informed Practice: Our entire team is trained in trauma-informed care, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), and de-escalation. We provide children with the emotional safety, structure and relational consistency they need to thrive.
Partnership Working: We work closely with social workers, Virtual School Heads, CAMHS, SEND leads and families to build shared goals and tailored plans. You’ll have a dedicated contact and receive regular, evidence-based updates.
Local Integration: All our homes are based in community settings in North London. Children can access local schools, GP practices, therapeutic services and green spaces — with clear routines that support school attendance and positive habits.
We offer a range of placement types to meet the diverse and changing needs of the children referred to us:
Our homes support children aged 8 to 17 with EBD, autism, ADHD, or complex social and family histories. Each child receives a personalised care and behaviour plan, co-developed with professionals and family.
Where urgent care is required, we can mobilise same-day placements subject to risk assessments and suitability checks. We provide calm, consistent care to help stabilise behaviours and reduce escalation.
For children moving from hospital, secure units or failed placements, we offer transitional support focused on routine, relationships, and reintegration.
With high staffing ratios and ongoing therapeutic input, we deliver consistent, structured support for children requiring longer-term placements.
We support older children to prepare for life beyond residential care, offering mentoring, practical life skills, and support with future housing or education plans.
When you place a child with us, we provide comprehensive documentation, close communication, and real-time feedback:
Full Placement Pack: Including our Statement of Purpose, latest Ofsted report, policies on safeguarding and behaviour, training matrix, and staff induction framework.
Education Coordination: We support mainstream schooling where possible and work with SEND professionals to adapt to EHCPs, including tuition where needed.
Progress Monitoring: You’ll receive regular updates on risk, emotional wellbeing, school attendance, placement stability and therapeutic input — including contributions to PEP and EHCP reviews.
Multi-Disciplinary Working: We maintain close working links with CAMHS, ICBs, education officers and social care teams to ensure children receive joined-up support.
All Nwando Care children’s homes are individually registered with Ofsted and follow strict safeguarding, risk, and quality protocols:
Each home has a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and safer recruitment practices.
All staff complete enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding, PBS and trauma training.
Incidents are recorded, tracked, and reviewed within our quality assurance framework.
We welcome scrutiny and external audit, and actively involve commissioners in care reviews.
