What is Adult Social Care?

Adult social care refers to the support provided to older people, disabled adults, or those with health conditions to help them live safely and well. At Nwando Care, this includes:

Domiciliary care – home visits for personal care, meals, mobility and medication

Live-in care – full-time support in the person’s own home

Supported living – help with daily life in shared or individual housing

Specialist care – for dementia, autism, learning disabilities, and mental health needs

Reablement – short-term recovery support after illness, surgery or hospital stay

What Daily Life Looks Like with Support

We aim to make daily life feel normal — just with the right support in place. A typical care package might include:

Morning personal care and getting dressed

Help with meals, shopping or medication

Support attending appointments or day centres

Companionship, conversation and reassurance

Evening visits or overnight care, where needed

Our carers are friendly, professional, and trained to deliver care that supports both physical and emotional wellbeing.

Safety, Respect and Personalisation

We treat every person as an individual, not a checklist. That means:

Care plans built around preferences and routines

Consistent staff who get to know your loved one’s needs

Safeguarding and dignity training for all care staff

Monitoring and reviews to adjust care as things change

Culturally aware and faith-sensitive care wherever needed

Keeping Families Involved

You’ll never be left out of the loop. Families are:

Included in care planning and regular reviews

Updated through notes, phone calls or digital platforms

Welcome to contact us with any questions or changes

Encouraged to share input on routines, cultural needs or preferences

We know that good care supports the whole family — not just the person receiving it.
