Considering residential care for your child is never easy. Whether you’ve reached this point after professional advice or a difficult period at home, we want you to know that Nwando Care provides safe, calm, and caring homes where children are understood, supported and nurtured.
Our residential homes support children aged 8 to 17 with emotional, behavioural or neurodevelopmental needs — including autism, ADHD, trauma and disrupted placements. We work closely with you and your child’s social worker to make the process as positive and supported as possible.
A children’s residential home is a small, registered home where trained care professionals provide 24/7 support. Our homes are:
Ofsted-registered and locally integrated
Small and welcoming, with high staff-to-child ratios
Designed to feel homely — not institutional
Children have structure, stability and fun. A typical day includes:
Morning routines and school or learning support
Daytime activities, including education or therapy
Evenings for meals, relaxation, reflection and social time
Weekends for family contact, outings, and hobbies
Your child’s safety is our highest priority:
All staff are trained in safeguarding and trauma-informed care
Each home has a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
Every child has a key worker who builds a trusting relationship
We welcome family input and review care plans regularly
