Your loved one will be supported by fully trained, DBS-checked carers who are:

Carefully matched to each individual’s needs, preferences and communication style

Trained in safeguarding, trauma-informed care, mental health, autism and dementia support

Supervised by experienced care managers and safeguarding leads

Every child or adult also has a named key worker who builds a trusting relationship and keeps you informed.

It’s normal to feel unsure. Residential care can help when:

Your child’s needs are complex and can’t be met at home

There’s been a breakdown in previous placements

Children: Placements are usually made via your Local Authority, SEND team or social worker. You can ask them to explore Nwando Care as a placement.

Adults: We accept referrals from families directly (private/self-funded) or via social care and NHS teams. We also support direct payments and personal budgets.

We’ll guide you through every step.

Emergency adult live-in or domiciliary care within 24–48 hours

Short-term step-down care after hospital discharge

The level and duration of support needed

Whether it is self-funded, LA-funded, CHC-funded, or a personal budget

For children, costs are usually commissioned by the Local Authority
