Care Quality Commission (CQC) – Adult Services

Nwando Care is fully registered with the CQC for the delivery of adult social care services. We hold a “Good” rating and meet all standards relating to safety, leadership, care, responsiveness and effectiveness.

Ofsted Registration – Children’s Homes

Our children’s residential homes are Ofsted-registered and deliver care in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards. We are committed to therapeutic, trauma-informed support for children aged 8–17 with emotional, behavioural or neurodevelopmental needs.

Safeguarding Standards

All services are governed by strict safeguarding frameworks for both adults and children. Our staff undergo enhanced DBS checks, mandatory safeguarding training, and continuous updates in areas such as MAPPA, LADO processes, and contextual safeguarding.

Investors in People Standard

Nwando Care holds the Investors in People (IiP) Standard — recognising our structured approach to supporting and developing our team. We continue to build on this foundation through a strong internal culture of learning, wellbeing, and professional growth.

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) – PSG Partnership

We are working towards full PBS accreditation through our partnership with Positive Support Group (PSG) — the UK’s largest PBS consultancy. Our teams receive ongoing training in person-centred, evidence-based strategies that improve quality of life and reduce restrictive practices.

National Autistic Society – Autism Best Practice

Across our services, we support children and adults with autism using principles aligned with the National Autistic Society’s guidance. This includes adapted communication, sensory-aware environments, and structured routines to promote wellbeing and independence.

Gold Standards Framework

We follow the Gold Standards Framework (GSF) in our adult care services, ensuring that people nearing the end of life receive compassionate, high-quality support that aligns with their wishes and improves their quality of life.

Haringey Council Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS)

Approved for both adult care and children’s residential placements in the borough, meeting rigorous procurement, safeguarding and service delivery requirements.

North Central London Integrated Care System (ICS) Framework

We collaborate with local NHS Trusts, ICBs and community health teams to deliver integrated adult care pathways including hospital discharge, reablement, and complex home-based support.

NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) Compliant

We deliver CQC-registered adult care packages in line with NHS CHC funding pathways, including step-down, end-of-life, and complex dual-diagnosis packages.

Ofsted-Recognised Children’s Placement Partner

We accept referrals through approved children’s commissioning frameworks, including emergency, short-term, and long-term residential care. Our placements are backed by trauma-informed practice, PBS, EHCP-aligned planning, and integrated therapeutic input.

NHS Shared Business Services (SBS) & Local Authority Portals

Nwando Care is listed on NHS SBS and a range of borough-wide commissioning portals, ensuring fast, compliant procurement for both adult and children’s care services.
