Nwando Care was founded by Ifeoma Akubue, who has dedicated her life to social care. Drawing from lived experience, Ify saw a need for care that truly listens, includes families, and delivers measurable impact. That vision has grown into a multi-service provider trusted by families, local authorities, NHS teams and community partners.
Whether we’re supporting an older person to live safely at home, or offering stability to a child with complex needs, we’re here to provide care that is inclusive, therapeutic, and responsive.

Our senior leadership team’s blend of professional expertise and personal experience ensures that Nwando Care is able to provide compassionate, high-quality care services that truly make a difference. Each leader is dedicated to creating a caring, supportive environment that both clients and staff can trust.
Emmanuel, the son of Ify, joined Nwando Care in 2017 after transitioning from a Tech sales role in the city. Initially brought in to offer short-term support to his mother, Emmanuel quickly immersed himself in the social care sector, driven by his own experience with family members requiring support. Having grown up receiving care, including support from young carers and other programmes, Emmanuel understood the importance of quality care services firsthand. Now, as Director of Operations & Commercial, Emmanuel leads the operational and commercial side of the business, combining his business acumen with his personal understanding of social care to drive Nwando Care's continued success.
With over 30 years of experience in health and social care, Paul brings a wealth of expertise, particularly in Learning Disabilities, Autism, Complex Needs, Physical Disabilities, and Mental Health. Paul is passionate about the person-centred approach to care, always striving to improve the opportunities and services available for the individuals Nwando Care supports. His vast experience and leadership are key to enhancing the operations and quality of care at Nwando Care, ensuring that both clients and staff benefit from continuous development and improvement.
Sarah has over 10 years of experience in social care, specialising in Children’s domiciliary care and short breaks for children with Autism and Learning Disabilities. Sarah joined Nwando Care as a Care Coordinator and, through her dedication and leadership, has risen to manage our Care Management Team. Her experience and commitment to high-quality care make her a vital part of Nwando Care, where she works closely with the care team to deliver excellent services to families and individuals.
Mofya joined Nwando Care in 2018 as a care assistant, initially seeing it as a part-time role to support her family. However, her background as a teaching assistant across multiple countries, including India and South Africa, gave her a unique perspective on working with diverse populations. Mofya quickly rose through the ranks, demonstrating exceptional dedication, and is now the Senior Home Care Coordinator and Reablement Lead. In this role, she ensures that Nwando Care's reablement services meet the needs of clients, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life.
